brayton osgood ski racing plus

I’m once again enjoying the fine hospitality of Mickey Scott here in St. Paul. We’re taking a break in the middle of our travel up to Mt. Itasca to sleep in nice beds, eat a couple good meals and wait for my bags to catch up with me. I had a pretty easy travel day (no delays), and was pretty disappointed to be 0 for 3 on bags getting to me in MSP. The Northwest automated baggage line is useless to me right now, all they can tell me is that my baggage status is still pending.

While I’m complaining, I’d like to go on a little about oversize people in normal size airline seats. On my flight from Seattle down to Las Vegas (two layovers is never ideal), I had an aisle seat. The woman next to me required a seat belt extension and was spilling over the arm rest an into my seat. I spent the whole flight with about 3/4 of my seat available to use. It’s a little hard to swallow paying extra for a ski bag that weighs 58 pounds when I’m sitting next to someone who weighs more than me and all my luggage combined. And then the luggage doesn’t come. (I actually haven’t paid for overweight bags yet this year, so I hope I didn’t just ruin the karma I’ve been riding).

As for the racing coming up. I’m back to healthy, maybe a little flat, but ready to go. It’s time to ski like I should have been skiing all winter. It’s going to be freezing ass cold this weekend, I just hope we can race. On the plus side, waxing should be really easy!

  1. You might want to switch plans to the Pepsi ‘cause I saw the SuperTour is canceled due to the cold.

  2. Horizon has a big person rule that if they can not fit with the arm rest down on only leg of their flight plan, they need to buy a second seat.
